i sat in front of the framed up poster of the many campbell tomato soup can. i could sit to look at it because the poster was standing on the floor since we've just moved houses. so i stared into it for quite sometime. i stared... trying to make some sense out of the poster. there was no CGI back then and it was like no other art i've seen prior to this one. i was confused... i couldnt understand the cans at all and why my father could not give me an explanation.

First, some lunch. Husband consulted his food guide and he seemed to know what he was doing so I continued reading my book (sent to me by my friend in Sydney, thanks Cath!). We ended up at the W W Laksa at Kampung Nong Chik. Thick laksa gravy made with more spice paste than dried shrimps was very lemak and packed plenty of oomph!, and there were generous bits of fried wonton skin and taupok to soak up all that gravy. The only critiscm was that I could not help wishing for a bit of tart kaffir lime juice to relieve the richness a little.

It seems Ted Kennedy was out along the beach at the Kennedy Compound over the weekend when he spotted some fishermen stranded by rising tides on a breakwater. He first called 911, then broke out his Boston Whaler (the irony here is delicious) and went out to rescue them. It turned out to be too treacherous for Senator Kennedy (D-Chivas), so he returned to the dock just as firefighters arrived, who used their own rescue boat to recover the fishermen.

Sometimes I feel like before Matt and I decided to buy this house, pick up our lives and move we should have consulted with Fox, because our lives could honestly be a low-budget reality show. The premise of the show would be simple - take two people born and raised in New York City, and have them move into a Pennsylvania farmhouse built in 1785. Watch as their restoration plans are complicated by the fact that before they moved in, the house was unlived in for a year during which time all the animals in the greater Bethelehem region decided to make it their home first.

Yesterday, I received a call from some friends and supporters who offered their home for a Ramadan prayer meeting last night. I jumped at the chance and sent out some mass emails to prospective field workers, church leaders, and supporters. From 6:30 to 8pm Katherine and I gathered with our hostess, her two little boys, and three others to intercede on behalf of Muslims--particularly the Malay people and women from Yemen. We also lifted up the American church and its needs--for repentance, in some quarters. Also , the international community God has placed in Phoenix for now.

Upon the opening of Disneyland this morning, we rushed to the joy that is Splash Mountain for a refreshing dip in the briar patch. Needless to say, the ride exceeded our expectations with the newly re-designed log cars resulting in an even wetter experience than before (Susan making a mental note not to ride Splash Mountain ever again.). And the story might have ended there, but it does not. When we arrived back to the loading area, we discovered that the ride had been shut down shortly after we had embarked. What happened? A death? A decapitation? All we know is that we were lucky to have escaped with our lives. Check your local news for updates.

After 7 yrs in a relationship, I am on the verge of being single again. After a discussion with my gf, I told her that maybe we gotta reconsider where our relationship is heading. It's been a while since I have ravenously finished a book cover to cover in a few days. Granted, the Virgin Suicides isn't a fat volume, but when I say I devoured it, I literally opened my mouth and ate every last word, sucked the marrow from every comma, and ravished the novel from spine to page. It was as though I had kept my head into the plethora of study books concerning India and Hinduism that this sinful, wanton read was akin to air to a drowning man.

It was her birthday and she was alone. She decided to buy herself a present, a new coat for the upcoming winter. She had wanted one last year but didn't spend the money.
